©L. Hauchard 9:30 : I just arrived at Argenton-sur-Creuse. I immediately head to the tourist office, located on Place de la République in the city center. There, the advisors give me the “city walk” document and explain all the things not to be missed. For those who want it, there is also a list of restaurants, a producers' guide, and other documentation on the rest of Berry.
9:45 : Let's go for about an hour of walking to discover the city. The circuit takes me along the banks of the river Creuse, see the houses with galleries, without forgetting the chapel of the Bonne Dame and the climb of its 77 steps.
11:00 : Back on the Place de la République, I will stroll along Rue Gambetta and discover a specialty of the city: the Argentonnaise croquettes offered by the pastry shop La Maison du WladimirIf I am in Argenton on a Saturday, I take the opportunity to go to the market (named twice among the Most Beautiful Markets in France by TF1).
12:00 : Noon sharp, I set off in search of a restaurant to taste fresh, local products.
Alternative: I shop at the bakery and delicatessen for a picnic in the Jardins de la Grenouille.
14:00 : Short stroll along the Creuse on the Rabois promenade, a very appreciated by the people of Argentin. Do not hesitate to step through the doors of the Contemporary Art Center "Le Moulin du Rabois" to discover the current exhibition.
15:00 : I am now heading towards the Museum "La Chemiserie et l'élégance masculine" located in the old shirt-making workshop. I discover the life and work of the “chemisières”, I learn the different stages of making a shirt. This museum is also the history of men's clothing, from the medieval period to the present day. I don't forget to visit the exhibition hall, which hosts exhibitions on various topics related to textiles and elegance throughout the year.
16:30 : I stroll along Rue Grande, looking for souvenirs and products locals. I take the opportunity one last time to go to the old bridge and see the beautiful houses with galleries before leaving.
