Church of Menoux

Don't hesitate to step inside the doors of this seemingly unremarkable church. From floor to ceiling, a veritable spectacle of colors awaits you. The work of Bolivian artist Jorge Carrasco, who has taken up residence in this small village just a few meters from the church, began plastering the walls of this church in the 70s.

Church of Menoux

Jorge Carrasco is a contemporary artist born in Bolivia in 1919 and died in Le Menoux in 2006. It was in Paris that he met his wife Simone, who would become his inspiration, his muse. After years of travel, the couple settled in the village of Menoux around the 70s, Simone being from the area.

The artist decided to work voluntarily in the church. Through his hypnotic work, Carrasco succeeded in bringing this historic monument back to life, offering visitors an enriching and unforgettable contemplative experience. Across the 450m² of walls, the drawings are sinuous, rounded, rich in allegory and influenced by Native American culture.
